Eggcellent Easter Service!

Mrs Harford's Blog

Lots of family members turned up to worship with staff and pupils at our Easter service yesterday. Every child in the school joined in and the celebration involved some mesmerising singing from y5/6, a joyful rendition of ‘Hot Cross Buns’, some drama from y3/4, great readings -especially from y2 and a lovely prayer from y1.

It was also lovely to watch the children walking to the church in their bonnets – our very own ‘real’ Easter parade!

Take a look at some of our photos!

Preparing for Easter

Mrs Harford's Blog

The children and staff have been busy preparing for our Easter celebration at the Church on Thursday and creating wonderful Easter bonnets at home.

As part of our celebration of Easter we have been sharing stories with the children about Easter and our current value – trust.

EASTER FOODS

We hope that this supports our school’s Christian Roots and provides children with a set of values that equip them well through their life.

Reverend Nick had fun getting the children to ‘trust’ their friends in worship last week too!

Look out for images of our bonnets and photos of our Easter celebration later this week!

Bananas!

Mrs Harford's Blog

The children have had a super day learning about fair trade and in particular the journey of fair trade bananas! Today the costumes have been amazing and we were especially touched by those who created wonderful costumes considering the importance of fair trade.

The children enjoyed an assembly where they shared views about fair trade and were even serenaded by a band of ukulele playing bananas!

Reception explored the concept of fair trade through sharing toys fairly

Pupils further up the school have been writing about fair trade.

Bananas!

Mrs Harford's Blog

For a fortnight our school has been looking at fair trade and the importance of Supporting third world countries and ensuring that they are paid a fair wage. Today we looked at the importance of fair trade through bananas!

The staff and children made a real effort to dress as bananas! We were particularly impressed with those that had created their own costumes by recycling old clothes… Take a look!

We enjoyed a whole school assembly today where we listened to the banana ukulele band sing and shared the joy of seeing each other’s costumes.

Classes then learnt about fair trade back in the classroom.

Everyone had fun and learnt the true value of fair trade!
